A talented group of Tennessee High School artists currently have 16 of their pieces featured at an exhibit at the Bristol Public Library. The exhibit is part of ArtEx 2022, an annual art competition for high school art students from high schools in Bristol, TN; Bristol, VA; Sullivan County, TN; and Washington County, VA.
ArtEx, or Artistic Excellence, began in 2009 as a committee of Arts Alliance Mountain Empire and in 2012 became a committee of Art in Public Places. The competition is divided into two age groups: freshman/sophomore and junior/senior.
The ArtEx Exhibit is in the Virgie Fleenor Gallery at the library and will be available through May 8. The library hours are Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m.-8 p.m., Friday and Saturday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m., and Sunday 2-5 p.m.
