Curt Rutherford

BTCS has named Curt Rutherford the new chief facilities maintenance officer for the district. Curt is a familiar face in the district having served the past five years as project coordinator in the Facilities and Maintenance department. He has worked in the construction industry since 2001. Prior to joining BTCS, Curt worked for 14 years with RD Godsey Construction. A graduate of Tennessee High School, Curt holds a Bachelor of Science in Construction Engineering Technology from ETSU.

"I am excited for the opportunity to continue supporting our students and staff in this new role, and I look forward to working with our Facilities and Maintenance department staff to continue improving the physical environment of our school system," Curt said. "It gives me great pride to be able to give back to the system that has meant so much to me and my family."

Curt and his wife Allyson have two children, Brooks, a kindergartener at Avoca, and Maya, who is almost three. Allyson is the library media specialist at Fairmount.

Curt will be replacing Ed Depew, who is retiring December 23 after nearly 20 years with BTCS.
