Katrina "Tina" Banks Thomas – 1983 (Tennessee High School)
Katrina "Tina" Banks Thomas was an all-star for the Vikings in track and field and basketball, winning two state titles her senior year.
She took home state titles in the 100 and 300 hurdles, setting records in both (14.3 seconds in the 100 and 43.9 seconds in the 300). She led the Vikings to the District 1 crown, winning the 100 and 300 hurdles, along with the high jump and long jump. She also won Region 1 titles in both hurdle events.
During her prep track career, Banks also finished fourth in the state in the 100 hurdles in her sophomore season. Her 100 and 300 hurdles times are No. 2 on the list of all-time leaders at THS, while her long jump effort places her fifth and she’s seventh on the list for high jump.
During her senior season, Banks averaged 16.6 points and 12 rebounds a game to lead THS to the Big 10 Conference title. She was an honorable mention selection on the All-State team and was named the MVP of the Lady Vikings’ track and basketball team in 1983.
