Bristol Tennessee City Schools was recently awarded the RTI2-A + RTI2-B District Model of Demonstration: 2022-2023 Groundbreakers Award from the Tennessee Tiered Supports Center (TSC),
The RTI2-A + RTI2-B Groundbreakers Award recognizes outstanding Tennessee school districts that have worked hard during the 2022-2023 school year to align their academic (RTI2-A) and non-academic behavior (RTI2-B) tiered support systems in partnership with the Tennessee Department of Education and Tennessee TSC. The alignment of the two frameworks represents how students’ academic and behavioral needs should be considered together, rather than in isolation.
According to a Tennessee TSC press release, Tennessee TSC is a proud partner of school districts invested in the continuous improvement of leadership, data-based decision making, assessment, and instruction and intervention to support all students. As a recipient of the RTI2-A + RTI2-B Groundbreakers Award, BTCS is recognized for its initial actions, planning, decisions, and work that led to breaking new ground while aligning their tiered frameworks. Through self-assessment, action planning, and district-wide professional development, BTCS has demonstrated a commitment to RTI2-A + RTI2-B and creating meaningful change within the school district. As one of six inaugural winners in the state, BTCS will be a model of demonstration for school districts across Tennessee.
In addition to district recognition, BTCS acknowledges the outstanding work of our three pilot schools who participated alongside the district team. Congratulations to Fairmount, Haynesfield and Holston View for leading the way to combined systems of support. These schools are recognized as Model of Demonstration Schools RTI2-A + RTI2-B for our district.
